Full Report: Beaver County: Anglers are catching trout at Raccoon Lake. A few have been caught trolling from boats, but most of the trout are being caught are near the dam using paste baits and maggots.

The fishing pressure has slowed on the rivers, but anglers managed to catch a few nice sized Walleye and Striped Bass near New Brighton on the Beaver River.

Full Report: Beaver County: Ohio River fishing has been good recently with anglers catching some nice sized Smallmouth Bass. The guys that did well were using plastic tube baits. Flathead Catfish anglers report catching several decent sized fish on chicken liver and cutbaits.

Beaver River fishing has been on the slow side. Several anglers are waiting for the Striped Bass bite to pick up. They are managing to catch a few near the Townsend Dam. Try using a soft plastic jerkbait near the ripples and stronger currents.

Full Report: Beaver County: Most anglers fishing the Beaver River have reported a slow bite over the past two weeks. A few fishermen reported catching bass on 3-inch plastic twister tail grubs. Anglers were also catching catfish and Freshwater Drum near the Townsend Dam.

Anglers participating in in the local catfish tournaments have been catching some decent Flathead Catfish and Channel Catfish from the Beaver River and Ohio River. No state record fish have been reported yet.

Many families with young children have been taking advantage of the nice August weather to do a little fishing at Raccoon Lake. Bass and Bluegill are being caught throughout lake on worms, maggots and minnows.

Full Report: Beaver County: A few anglers have been spotted fishing the North Fork of the Little Beaver Creek in recent days. Anglers report catching some holdover trout near Darlington.

The Beaver River has finally cleared up from all the debris flowing downriver from rains up north. Canoers, kayakers and paddle boarders took advantage of nice weather in recent weeks to paddle the river. Some were out for exercise, while others were fishing or sightseeing.

Many anglers have been out late at night looking for big catfish. Most reported a slow bite.

Full Report: Beaver County: River conditions on the Beaver River and Ohio River over the past week were higher than normal and slightly muddy. Anglers have been catching large Freshwater Drum and Flathead Catfish on the Ohio River in Rochester. Bass anglers also report catching nice sized Smallmouth Bass on the Ohio River near Ambridge and the Beaver River. Two giant walleye have been caught right below the dam in New Brighton on shiners in recent weeks.

Anglers targeting panfish and trout at Raccoon Lake reported a moderate bite. Some trout were caught on paste baits near the dam and several Bluegill were caught near the beach on redworms.

Full Report: Beaver County: Anglers are still catching a lot of trout at Bradys Run Lake and Raccoon Lake. Anglers fishing from shore are doing well on paste baits and minnows. Anglers fishing from boats are doing well trolling inline spinners. Raccoon Lake and Traverse Creek will be stocked with trout again this week.

It seems anglers fishing the North Fork of the Little Beaver Creek had a great year. Many anglers have said they have caught many very nice-sized trout on the creek this year.

Catfish fishing is starting to heat up with the rising water temperatures. Many anglers were out over the weekend using large rods and big baits trying to catch a record catfish. Several spots on the Ohio River have produced a few large flatheads. Good baits are Bluegill and nightcrawlers.

Full Report: Beaver County: Good sized crowds were out for the 2014 trout opener in the county. Many anglers caught their limits of trout from all of the districts Approved Trout Waters.

Some anglers fishing Bradys Run Lake on the opening day practiced catch and release and caught over 30 trout near the dam.

Several Golden Rainbow Trout were observed on stringers at Raccoon Lake. Many anglers reported the bite slowed down later in the morning but still managed to catch trout by changing tactics and baits.

Many trout on the opener were caught on butter worms. They seemed to work when all other baits failed.

The Beaver River is starting to heat up. Several Walleye and Muskellunge were landed and released near the Townsend Dam in New Brighton. Jerkbaits and shiners were working really well.

The North Fork of the Little Beaver Creek received the in-season allotment of trout this week. Many stocking volunteers commented on the large size of the rainbow and brown trout that were put into the creek.

Full Report: Beaver County: Ice anglers were out over the weekend fishing Bradys Run Lake. A moderate bite was reported with most of the anglers catching Brown Trout and panfish. Small jigs tipped with maggots iced the most fish.

Several nice sized largemouth bass were caught during the month of February on tip-ups tipped with minnows. This is encouraging news since the lake was drained a few years ago. It seems the bass population is starting to mature.

The Beaver River and Ohio River are mostly void of ice but little to no fishing activity has been reported.

Full Report: Beaver County: Bradys Run Lake was stocked with trout this week. At the time of stocking the ice conditions were unsafe (about 2-3 inches of ice) and warmer weather is predicted later in the week.

Full Report: Beaver County: Anglers are catching trout at Raccoon Lake. Most of the trout are being caught off the dam, but a few nice sized trout were caught near the beach over the weekend. Paste baits seem to be catching the most fish but minnows are also doing the trick.

Anglers are still doing well on the Beaver River. They are catching bass, Walleye and Hybrid Striped Bass near the Townsend Dam, large shiners, soft plastic baits and jerkbaits are the ticket.

A few anglers were out fishing Bradys Run Lake over the weekend. A slow bite was reported.
