Full Report: Canyon Ferry Reservoir: Walleyes are down very deep and you will need weighted line to go after them. Pulling crankbait or crawler rigs may produce fish, but don't count on too many strikes.

Full Report: Canyon Ferry Reservoir: Fishing remains very good for trout on the north end. Shoreline anglers are having luck at all of the campgrounds using worms and marshmallows or spawn sacs. Spoons and spinners have been working as well. Boat anglers are doing well trolling cranks along the shorelines. Walleye fishing has picked up on the south end, although it hasnt really gotten good yet. Fishing at the Silos and at Pond 4 is your best bet, either trolling cranks or jigging the shorelines.

Full Report: Canyon Ferry Reservoir: Fishing is still good, especially with the dropping water temperatures. Walleye fishing has been good mid-reservoir while trolling bottom bouncers and crawler harnesses or slow death rigs anywhere from 25-40 feet deep. Jigging has been productive as well, especially on the deep drop offs. Perch have been caught while jigging these deep drop offs as well. Trout fishing is great on the north end of the reservoir. Shore fishing is picking up with crawlers and marshmallows or casting spoons and crankbaits. Fly fishermen are getting trout on leeches, calibaetis nymphs, and prince nymphs both at the sandbar near Yacht Basin and at Magpie Bay.

Full Report: Canyon Ferry Reservoir: Fishing is still excellent, especially slow trolling crawler harnesses anywhere from 15-25 feet deep and along drop offs. Green, blue, and orange are the hot colors right now. Jigging on drop offs and bay points has been working as well. Trout fishing is good throughout the reservoir, but is best near Cemetery Island. Perch fishing is decent while jigging for walleye.

Full Report: Yellowstone River: One of our guys went out to Paradise Valley early this morning and reported back that the mud plug has passed thru and back to green. On the super clear, hot days the fishing can be a bit tough. Starting early in the day with streamers has been real good. Fish tight to the bank and you will only need to make a few strips before casting again. If you haven't tried a double streamer rig yet you need too. Two Sparkle Minnows or McCune Sculpins have them hitting hard. By ten o'clock you should have some bugs out. PMD's, small Goldens, Yellow Sally's and Caddis later in the day. The more cloud cover and less "W" you have will give you better surface fishing. If the weather continues to be clear with wind in the afternoon, it would be better to switch into nymphing during mid-day. The river below Pine Creek is still pushing hard and some spots on the river can be tricky to navigate. We don't recommend floating past here yet if you haven't had much time on the oars.

Full Report: Canyon Ferry Reservoir: The carp are spawning, and the walleye bite is on. There are plenty of better options, but knock yourself out!

Full Report: Canyon Ferry Reservoir: The south end of the lake has gotten dirty from the Missouri dumping in dirty water. Just about in the Silos area is where the lake starts to clear. Some folks have been getting Rainbows by fishing on the edge of the mud line with sinking lines. Walleye are feeding near the bottom at the north end near the dam. If you like catching carp, they are grouping up to spawn in the shallow bays. A feew are feeding on small black wolly buggers with a very slow retrieve.

Full Report: Canyon Ferry Reservoir: The water is starting to rise enough to get boats in on the south end, and fishing is awesome! Walleye fishing is very good right now, as well as trout fishing. The water is still very low so expect it to be a lot more shallow than normal. Shallow running cranks and bottom bouncers have been working well on the walleye, as well as jigging from shallow to deep on shelves and ledges. Trout are hitting shallow running cranks as well. Fishing on the north end of the lake has been great as well. Worms and marshmallows are your best bet, although gold and silver spoons are working on the trout as well. Fly fishermen are still doing excellent with leech and egg patterns.

Full Report: Canyon Ferry Reservoir: The perch fishing has slowed down a little bit from the reports I have been getting. The ice guys keep saying that this time of year that is expected so no surprise there. The Walleye guys say they are having good luck but only if youre on the ice at the right time of day. The time to be out there is real early and real late if youre looking to get the Walleye.
