Full Report: Jumbo Reservoir - Fishing is still slow for all species. Some catfish are being caught. The lake is 6' down and still dropping and the dock is out. Boating will close on October 1, or unless it becomes too low to launch boats. The minimum size for walleye is 15". Jumbo requires an annual fishing license or a SWA permit to enter.

Full Report: Blue Mesa Reservoir - The lake has remained stable at 19 feet below full pool for two weeks now. This has improved the fishing all across the lake. Kokanee salmon fishing gets better and better as the summer goes on. Limits are being caught now in Sapinero and Cebolla basins trolling from 15-50 feet of water. Standard lure choices included orange, pink and purple in spinners and squids trolled behind dodgers in silver or matching color patterns and tipped with white corn. Trout fishing remains good all across the lake trolling salmon gear, Rapalas or fishing the bottom with worms and power bait. Perch have also starting showing up shallow in almost all of the bays and inlets around the lake. Look for weeds submerged in 5-30 feet of water and use small grubs tipped with worms.

Full Report: Jumbo Reservoir - As of 2/1/2014 ice thickness varied from skim ice to 2”, depending on location. Recent cold weather and snow may create some fishable ice, but anglers are urged to use extra caution when venturing out onto the ice. Ice fishing for walleye, crappie, and channel catfish has been slow for the few anglers who have fished through the ice. Ice fishing for trout should be good this season. Approximately 10,000 catchable trout were stocked in 2013.

The minimum size for walleye and wiper is 15 inches.
